		| Abstract: | A multidimensional non-LTE radiative transfer code is developed to study the extended atmosphere of a binary star system, and curves of growth are used to analyze the spectra of different chromospheric eclipse phases. The radiative transfer code allows the calculation of emergent intensities, flux-line profiles, mass-loss rates, terminal wind velocity, and the line-broadening parameter. Combined with the electron temperatures and densities derived from the curve of growth analysis, detailed descriptions of the extended atmospheres of some late-type giants and supergiants are given. |
