Abstract: We have carried out a homogeneous study of the properties of the narrow-line region (NLR) for one of the largest narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxy (NLS1) samples, using Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) spectroscopy. We perform a comparison with a sample of broad-line Seyfert 1 galaxies (BLS1s). Various trends between the observed parameters are detected. Correlation analyses are employed in order to search for possible origins of the observed trends. We further investigate the relationship between black hole mass, Eddington ratio (L/LEdd) and physical parameters of the NLR.
