Abstract: Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) recently released a new set of OPLIB opacity tables for the elements hydrogen through zinc. The new LANL opacities are publicly available via our website. Various astrophysical modeling efforts have already tested the new opacity tables and used them in stellar simulations. In this paper, we briefly review some of the methods used in our calculations. We also briefly discuss the effects of configuration interaction on Fe monochromatic opacities at selected conditions.
