Abstract: We have developed a new mm-submm telescope with a diameter of 1.85m installed at the Nobeyama Radio Observatory. The scientific motivation is to improve our understanding of the physical conditions (e.g., temperature, density) of molecular clouds in the Galaxy for bridging the gap in understanding between molecular clouds evolution and star formation therein. We have then developed the new telescope to reveal a large-scale distribution of the molecular gas properties with multi-line observations. The observed dataset can be compared with large-scale observations in various wavelengths. It is also beneficial for the comparison with GMCs in the external galaxies that are being resolved spatially by the large aperture telescopes in the ALMA era.
