Abstract: Until now, gravitational physics has never been tested in the strong field limit and even the actual nature of astrophysical black hole candidates is far from being clear. However, this situation may change in the near future: very long baseline interferometry technique at sub-mm wavelength will be hopefully able to observe the direct image of SgrA* and thus study the space-time around the super-massive black hole candidate at the Galactic Center. In this talk, I discuss the possibility of testing the Kerr bound |a*|1, which is the condition for the existence of the event horizon in Kerr space-times.
