Abstract: From observations we know that dense prestellar cores are relatively calm regions with sub-sonic motions. They are embedded in a supersonic turbulent environment. In Fourier-space these turbulent velocity fields can be described by a Kolmogorov-type power law of the form P(k)∼k-n with n=11/3. Starting with a homogeneous density sphere plus a turbulent velocity field we evolve our model system into a self-consistent state, which we use as our initial condition for the subsequent collapse calculations.
