Abstract: Clusters lose a very significant fraction of their mass in the first 10-20 Myr of life. This mass is the gas not used in star formation which is expelled by the supernovae of the most massive stars. We present accurate simulations of the gas expulsion due to one supernovae in 5 x 104 Msun clusters with star formation efficiencies between 10 and 50 per cent. A bound stellar cluster is found to remain if the star formation efficiency is >25%.
