Abstract: We present OH 1612 MHz maser observations toward OH 37.1-0.8 made with the VLBA at an angular resolution of ~10 milli-arcsec. This OH/IR star exhibits the H2O maser components in a velocity range much larger than that of the OH maser in disagreement with the standard model. We find from the VLBA observations that the OH maser emission toward OH 37.1-0.8 has a bipolar morphology suggesting that this source could be the progenitor of a bipolar planetary nebula.
