| Abstract: |
We present a new determination of the distance of the globular cluster 47 Tucanae using the white dwarf cooling sequence. 47 Tuc has been observed with HST, using WFPC2. Comparing the cluster WD sequence with a sequence of local calibrating WDs, observed with the same configuration, we obtain a distance modulus of (m-M)0=13.05±0.12. |
