Abstract: The Coronal Diagnostic Spectrometer (CDS) on SOHO has provided some exciting new results on the nature of the solar transition region and corona. CDS has as a scientific goal the determination of the physical parameters of the solar plasma, using spectroscopic diagnostic techniques. Intensity ratios of the EUV spectral emission lines (150-785A) have been used to obtain information on the electron density and temperature structure, element abundance and the dynamic nature of various solar features. An overview of these CDS results is presented here.
