| Abstract: |
FITSPRESS is a program for compressing astronomical FITS images. It is capable of functioning in both lossless (reconstructed file byte identical to original) and high-compression filtered (truncated wavelet representation) modes. A brief description of the program's design and implementation is given, and sample output is shown. The program is available in beta release by anonymous ftp. |
