Abstract: The scientific objectives that can be achieved with PRISMA (Probing Rotation and Interior of Stars: Microvariability and Activity) are highlighted. PRISMA's scientific objectives are the study of: stellar structure and evolution, stellar atmospheres and magnetic fields, and stellar dynamics and stellar dynamos. With PRISMA, the targets must correctly sample the stellar parameter space. Stars with different rotation rates must be observed. To be able to observe more than 100 targets in a 2-yr mission, with exposure times of 1 mo per target, a strategy in which several stars are observed simultaneously has been adopted. The photometric and spectroscopic segments of PRISMA observables are given.
