Abstract: Most of what we know about starspots comes from time variations of broadband lightcurves. A review is presented of the current observational knowledge of starspots on RS CVn-like F, G, and K stars, T Tauri, and W UMa-type stars. Recent Doppler maps are compared with photometric results.
