Abstract: The COBE project software, consisting of over 700,000 lines of executable code running on a VAX/VMS cluster comprised of 8000-series VAXes and VAX workstations, will ultimately produce the project datasets. It is the task of the configuration management subsystem to ensure that each new release of software contains only code which has been formally tested and approved. This paper describes the configuration management and quality control procedures being applied to assure the integrity of the software prior to production of the project datasets.
