Abstract: The advantages of Fabry-Perot spectroscopy over slit spectroscopy are often ignored owing to the difficulty of calibrating the resulting data. The calibration process involves a complex 3--dimensional rebinning of a spectral line data cube. In this paper we describe a new approach to this problem, which breaks down the original 3-dimensional problem into two more manageable 1-D and 2-D problems. The new algorithms have been implemented in the `TAUCAL' software package. The software was originally written with the TAURUS instrument in mind, but in principle can apply to any astronomical Fabry-Perot system.
