Abstract: The theoretical basis for the ability to increase the resolution of an image beyond the diffraction limit of the optical system used to form that image has been addressed by many investigators during the past twenty years (e.g., Gerchberg 1974; Holmes 1988; and references therein). Here we address the practical aspects of achieving such super resolution of images by using the maximum entropy method.
