Abstract: Digitized radio, optical, and ultraviolet images and CO observations are used to describe the spiral arm morphology of M81. All of the spiral tracers are intermingled across a broad spiral arm. The small diffuse H I clouds seem to be the only component to undergo a spiral shock in M81. In several respects, the spiral arms of M81 differ considerably from those of M51 but are similar to the spiral arms of M33. Much of the difference in spiral arm morphology between M81 and M51 results from the greater surface density of interstellar gas in M51.
