Abstract: The Data Transport System (DTS) is the first component of the NOAO Data Management System encountered by newly observed images from the rich suite of instrumentation hosted by NOAO and partner telescopes. Raw data flow from more than 30 instrument computers in a dozen telescope domes to mountain data caches on Kitt Peak in the USA, Cerro Tololo and Cerro Pachon in Chile, and then to the corresponding data stores in Tucson, AZ, USA and La Serena, Chile. The data are mirrored across the equator between these two data stores and forwarded to the National Center for Supercomputer Applications for permanent storage. The DTS tracker facility provides a mechanism for confirming the end-to-end delivery of a sequence of data files from a list of several data source machines to a common master data store.
