| Abstract: |
The tools the Instruments Division (INS) offers to the science community
for planning their observations or analyzing their data can be developed by any of its
diverse and talented staff, who can come from different educational backgrounds. To
support tools that are useful to the science community, and that are compliant, robust,
and maintainable, all staff needs to acquire the necessary skills to do this work and
understand how to better contribute to these efforts. I present here what INS is doing
to develop staff, the current challenges, and the steps needed to ensure we can continue
working on new tools and retain the talent within our division. |
