| Abstract: |
MOCs, the HEALPix-based Multi-Order Coverage maps, are a powerful
tool for representing arbitrary shapes on the sphere with user-selectable fidelity and
remarkable compactness. In this contribution, we show how we have extended the
Virtual Observatory’s query language ADQL to enable powerful MOC operations in
the database. We illustrate the extensions with example queries runnable on the TAP
service at http://dc.g-vo.org/tap. |
