Abstract: The Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) and the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) are jointly developing the Atacama Compact Array (ACA) Spectrometer for the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). This new spectrometer can process the signals from four total power (TP) antennas using graphical processing units (GPUs). The spectrometer’s core consists of four ACA Spectrometer Modules (ASM), each performing 96 Gbps real-time signal processing using GPUs. This report presents an overview of ASM’s software design. It has completed the Assembly, Integration, and Verification (AIV) phase and is in the process of Commissioning and Science Verification (CSV) for the science operation starting from Cycle 10.
