Abstract: A key metric of software development success is efficient performance. A given development task typically necessitates a choice between competing algorithms, technologies and implementation strategies. Performance benchmarking can guide efficient choices. For systems with automatic dynamic overclocking capabilities however, concerns about performance benchmarking repeatability have been raised. ThrottleStop, an overclocking disabler, was applied to domain-relevant Stan code to test those concerns. Dynamic overclocking was not found to compromise benchmarking repeatability for the code on a test system.
