Abstract: |
The New Robotic Telescope is a 4 m class fully-automated optical observatory to be built in La Palma, building upon the successful autonomous model of the
currently operating Liverpool Telescope. As is the nature of fully-robotic telescopes, a
robust and complex software architecture is at the heart of such a facility. The software
stack being developed for this telescope builds upon the Telescope Level Systems of the
GranTeCan Control System and aims to be a complete, unified solution for telescope
management and science operations. We describe the proposed architecture and current
status of this system, which is being developed using robust industry-standard tools, a
Kubernetes architecture for operations and a modern DevOps methodology. |
