Abstract: We are in the process of updating the introductory astronomy related topics we cover in our Introduction to Physical Science and General Physics 1 courses. The students in these courses don't tend to take our Astronomy course. We have two objectives for our updates. First we want to expand on the content and enjoyability of the astronomy material presented in our non-astronomy courses. Second we hope to recruit more of the students from the non-astronomy courses to enroll in the Astronomy course in future semesters. Here we present some of the changes we are implementing.
