Abstract: With advancing technology a key educational goal in science is to incorporate the tools of the trade into the educational arena such that students are efficient in the use of current technologies and those technologies enhance student learning and their abilities to apply scientific skills. Remote robotic telescopes, one of the foundational instruments of astronomy, are now easily accessible for larger numbers of students, and programs designed to provide the access are growing. The Our Place in Space! (OPIS!) college curriculum, developed at UNC Chapel Hill, and the use of the Skynet network of robotic telescopes, are now being implemented at over 30 colleges and universities around the United States in Astronomy 101 courses, and the impact of telescope use on students' self-efficacy, and attitudes towards science, as well as their content knowledge changes in association with telescope use and the OPIS! curriculum are being evaluated. The increases in self-efficacy as well as changes in attitudes will be reported on in this talk.
