Abstract: The spottedness of the secondary component of a precataclysmic binary DE CVn has been investigated using the photometric data. A simultaneous analysis of the V and Rc light curves was carried out to map the stellar surface. Two different approaches were used for the starspot mapping. The first one is based on the approximation of the spottedness with circular spots. The idea of the second approach consists in partitioning the stellar surface into a grid of small areas. Over this grid a search for the continuous temperature distribution is carried out by the Tikhonov regularization algorithm.
