Abstract: LUCI is a pair of NIR spectrographs and imagers for the Large Binocular Telescope (LBT). Currently only one instrument is available at the LBT. The second instrument is going to be installed at the LBT in 2013. The next software version has to support synchronized binocular observations with both LUCI instruments. Therefore it will run the observation cycles synchronously on both telescope sides. Here we describe the interfaces and strategies that are used for an implementation of the scheduling and the synchronization of the binocular observations.
