Abstract: We developed software to synthesize the absorption-line profiles produced by the outflows predicted in hydrodynamical models of AGN winds. The code divides the outflow into a series of contiguous slabs and then runs Cloudy photoionization calculations to determine the ionic column densities through each slab. The line profiles are then synthesized using the column densities, velocities, and temperatures though a series of slabs along a line of sight through the outflow. Our code also explores the effects of continuum filtering, in which the continuum photons pass through an absorbing medium before reaching the filaments that produce the observed UV absorption lines.
