Abstract: We make use of [α/Fe] ratios derived from the spectra of 17,277 SEGUE G dwarfs to separate them into likely thin- and thick-disk subsamples, and investigate the rotational velocity and eccentricity gradients with metallicity, [Fe/H], distance from the plane, |Z|, and Galactocentric distance, R, in order to provide observational constraints on contemporary models of the formation of the Milky Way's thick disk.
