Abstract: We made a Galactic plane survey in both 12CO(2-1) and 13CO(2-1) with 9 arcmin resolution. It covers the largest area on the sky in these lines with denser sampling than the beam size. Using the survey data we derived the gas density histogram of the galactic disk in the 20-pc scale, which corresponds to the probability distribution function of a stochastic process. The derived histogram is log-normal. It suggests the current gas density structure is a result of many density modulations which happens randomly without any characteristic scale.
