Abstract: Many institutions, observatories and facilities track publications as a way to measure impact and productivity as well as provide information for internal decision-making. What are the various methods used to do this? How are these results reported? Are there enough commonalities among the methods to make it possible to compare one institution to another? Or are we stuck with apples and oranges? These questions will be explored; the results of a survey will be discussed.
