Abstract: We present the discovery of numerous new variable stars from the exoplanet database of the CoRoT space mission (the CoRoT space mission, launched on 27 December 2006, has been developed and is operated by CNES, with the contribution of Austria, Belgium, Brazil, ESA, Germany and Spain). Among these, hundreds of new multiperiodic pulsators are found, covering a large range in stellar parameters. We present some examples of B-type stars among this sample, among which a few in eclipsing binaries, and discuss how the CoRoT data will allow us to improve asteroseismology in the upper part of the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram in the near future.
