Abstract: The main goal of this work is to derive useful diagnostic tools that help to establish a link between star formation phenomena and AGN activity. To this purpose, we use the log[L(12μm)/L(60μm)] ratio ≡ L(12, 60), the luminosity and equivalent width of the 7.7μm PAH line, the star formation rate (SFR) and the size of the BRL. Our results show that these quantities, indeed, are intimately connected, supporting the current view of a link between AGN and starburst activity.
