Abstract: In the design or implementation of science applications, or simply to have a fast mechanism for finding specific VO enabled services, data, or tools, the NVO registry is a good place to start. This chapter will address how to find astronomical resources using a set of metadata criterion. We will present the available search tools and technologies in the context of two NVO searchable registries. These provide query interfaces ranging from a simple keyword search, to XPath queries, to web service description interfaces (see Chapter 43 on Registry Client). There is also a brief exploration into other IVOA registry search interfaces which share common resource schema descriptions and protocols for exchanging resources in the global VO registry network.
