Abstract: Recent advances in estimating black hole masses in AGN show that radio luminosity is dependent upon black hole mass, accretion rate and a third parameter, probably black hole spin. We discuss the relative importance of these parameters, and indicate a scheme for unifying AGN on the basis of these three quantities, plus orientation.
