Abstract: We have observed the nuclear spectrum of NGC1097 more than once a year from 1991 to 2001. We show the evolution of the broad double-peaked Hα profile over this period of time, which sets a number of constraints on the accretion disk model previously proposed. Based on the model fits, we present a physical scenario for the evolution of the double-peaked profile.
