Abstract: The central X-ray source of NGC 4945 is obscured by an absorber with optical thickness about 2. The X-ray flux varies on time scale of less than a day which implies that the absorber is not a torus but a much thinner structure. Chandra observations reveal in greater detail than ever before the structure of the inner region on scale of tens of parsecs.
