Abstract: We present results from a Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (WSRT) survey for HI 21 cm absorption in 62 Mg II-selected absorption systems, among which we identify three new HI 21cm absorbers. We use the redshift evolution of the number density of Mg II-absorbers and the HI detection rate to estimate ΩHI(z=0.6) = 0.0015.
