Abstract: We report on the status of our project to study the properties of Planetary Nebulae (PNe) which are interacting with their ambient interstellar medium (ISM). In particular, we have discovered proper motions (PM) for a significant number of interacting PNe. These measured parameters enable us to derive the space velocity of the central star (CS) and its PN, which is fundamental to the PN-ISM interaction. The PM vector and the shape of the PN also directly show that motion of the CS is the root cause of the asymmetry of the PN and confirm that this motion is responsible for the PN-ISM interaction. For the first time Galactic orbits of PNe have been calculated and we have analyzed the membership of the CSs to specific Galactic stellar populations based on their kinematics. The knowledge of the space velocity of the CS is an important stepping stone towards a more quantitative understanding of PN-ISM interaction.
