Abstract: The bulges of Sa and Sb galaxies are so massive and dynamically hot that they represent inner reflectors of spiral density waves in the surrounding galactic disks. A local stellardynamical theory of spiral density waves is developed to study the role of inner boundary conditions. It is demonstrated that the emerging spiral density waves have modal character.
