Abstract: In a system which has several modes, modal coupling is important to study finite amplitude, or nonlinear oscillation. Strong coupling makes oscillation single-mode, beside weak one does it multi-mode. The formulation and numerical estimates of modal coupling of stellar pulsation is presented. The numerical study of amplitude equations including coupling term is discussed together with the results of hydrodynamic simulation. The effect of artificial viscosity in hydrodynamic models will be discussed based on new results. Application to double-mode cepheids and RV Tauri stars will be discussed.
