Abstract: We have analysed published radial velocity data for 126 Pop.I Galactic Cepheids. For each variable the shape of the velocity curve has been described quantitatively with the Fourier parameters fn1 and Rn1. This sample supersedes previous collection of velocity curves by Kovacs, Kisvarsanyi and Buchler. For 45 variables with periods of 5-10 days the period ratio, P2/P0, has been determined from the Fourier parameters. The resultant Petersen diagram for these stars is compared with theoretical model calculations. We show that the slope of the evolutionary M-L relation of Becker, Iben and Tuggle (1976) is in full agreement with the data.
