Abstract: We have mapped 10 dense cloud cores in the ORION complex at lambda approx 10 microns taken from a survey at lambda ~1.3mm. Maps of the cores with 1.0 arcsec resolution obtained with TIMMI at ESO's 3.6m telescope are presented. The sensitivity of the maps (less than or equal to14mJy per arcsec^2), would be sufficient to detect protostars of Mbol ~1L\odot provided the dust cocoon of such stars is being heated to at least ~150 K. The maps cover the area of extended sub-mm emission and extend up to several arcmin^2 (including the coordinates of any IRAS detections in the vicinity of these cores). First results of the ongoing analysis are summarized. (Based on observations at the European Southern Observatory, La Silla, Chile.)
