Abstract: We present the results of numerical simulations to analyze the effects of anisoplanatism on T.H.E.M.I.S. adaptive optics system when observing extended sources. We compute analytically the long exposure optical tranfer functions in the field-of-view to simulate the image quality after correction using adaptive optics systems. We demonstrate the capacity of the image stabilizer optical system for very large field-of-view observations with medium image qual ity while the capacity of high order adaptive optics system is suitable for high image quality observations but to the price of a reduction of the field-of-view .
